I grew up in a small town in central Illinois. Being from a small rural town, I was surrounded by agriculture from a very young age. Growing up I watched all the producers work very hard to not only make a living but to feed the world with their products. I knew that I wanted to do whatever I could to make their job easier. Knowing I had an interest in agriculture led me to pursue a degree in animal science at the University of Illinois. Once in school I discovered my passion for dairy nutrition through classes, research and clubs. My undergraduate research focused on transition cow health, and behavioral nutrition. I am excited to see how research done in the lab can help the lives of the producers and cows in commercial settings.

After graduation I decided to pursue my Master’s degree in dairy nutrition. I am very excited to be a part of the dairy focus lab at the University of Illinois. In the future I plan on pursuing a career in dairy nutrition consulting, and look forward to working in the industry.
