My name is Sara Knollinger and I am from New Smyrna Beach, Florida. I received my B.S in Animal Science from the University of Florida, in April of 2017. Growing up I gained a passion for the livestock industry through showing and raising livestock, such as market and breeding sheep and a dairy heifer, at county and state fairs. During this experience I was presented with a challenging incident where nutrition played a major impact on the future production of my breeding ewe and sparked my interest in livestock nutrition. While attending the University of Florida I assisted graduate students with research projects in both dairy and equine nutrition. Throughout my undergraduate experience I have had many valuable opportunities such as interning with dairy nutritionists from numerous states, being able to recognize quality livestock through my livestock judging experience, and working on a commercial dairy with the feed, health, and reproduction team. Today, I am attending the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign to pursue my Masters in Ruminant Nutrition with Dr. Phil Cardoso. I will start my research trial in January of 2018. I am excited to conduct research, broaden my knowledge, and be a part of the Dairy Focus Lab
