My name is Milena Bugoni and I am from Brazil. I am an Animal Scientist from the Federal University of Pelotas and during my undergraduate, I have had some opportunities to work with research focused on improving the performance of dairy cows. I always liked ruminants and research in general and in the last years of my undergraduate I realized that I loved cows and that I wanted to continue working with research and dairy cows.

My master’s degree was at the University of São Paulo and I worked with alternative carbohydrates and in a second project with exogenous enzymes in the diet of lactating dairy cows, which I concluded in May 2022.

Convinced that the milk production chain is in constant evolution, I would like to know a different reality from what I am inserted in Brazil, so start my studies as Visiting Researcher Scholar at UIUC with Dr, Phil Cardoso before starting my Ph.D. I am excited to learn about research and the dairy industry abroad here at Dairy Focus Lab.
